went swiming at noon
The big patch of potatoes
was verry weedy.

Sleepless again despite my weariness. Took 2 exedrin pm at 3, slept till almost 11. Heavy rain in early morning left signs of flooded streets, but it had all subsided by the time I got out. Grey day, cooler for no sun, but still oppressively humid. Sat with boys on the porch swing after dinner. The air perfectly still. The sky going from gray to lilac as the light took leave of the day.
