wallflowering

The cold walked out today, with his hands in his pockets
and did not seek my company.

There was whistling in places I did not go.
Commotion on the underside
of back behind. And somewhere
somebody was dancing.

I kept to myself.

Nothing settled in the hollows of my bones
and nothing melted on my tongue.
