Went in to wrap up the summer writing project with Jake's class. The children laid their day cards out in rows across the gym. We walked among their details of summer, reading, absorbing. The children favor those cards which reference them, or use funny words. The adults are drawn to details that linger on the tongue or explode in the mind. I walked away with my pockets full.
